Sales Associate | Scottsdale, Arizona

 

As a SPEKS Sales Associate you are responsible for prospecting and closing profitable promotional products sales to a diverse range of small to mid-size accounts that are new SPEKS customers, as well as serving as the primary contact for the client during the sales process. Sales Associates work directly with internal support functions (creative, production, accounting, etc.) to ensure that client needs are exceeded.

As part of an integrated, strategic selling approach, our Sales Associate’s develop and execute sales strategies for all SPEKS products and services to maximize sales in all product categories.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Achieve sales budget/goal and margin objectives for all sales activities
  • Monitor, measure, and drive to achieve short and long term sales and profitability plans
  • Work within assigned budgets and forecasts and adjust expenses to correspond with sales expectations
  • Prospect in assigned territory for new promotional and print products customers outside of the existing SPEKS account base
  • Develop, manage and expand the corporate relationship (new departments, contacts, etc.) with new mid-size customers
  • Conduct B2B sales calls daily over the phone and face to face appointments
  • Call on prospective customers to obtain their business
  • Responsible for tracking and reporting sales activity
  • Build customer book of business through all forms of sales generation and mediums
  • Provide client specific direction and liaison with all internal departments that support the customer needs
  • Conduct meetings and presentations with key account stakeholders to open new accounts, drive sales, and insure excellent customer experience
  • Develop creative solutions for clients’ branding needs; marketing promotions, division needs
  • Direct new and repeat orders for customers, with a strong focus on SPEKS preferred supplier network
  • Serve as promotional products category specialist
  • Conduct effective sales calls that are well-coordinated and in a client focused manner that engages all the members involved
  • Contribute during group problem-solving and strategy meetings to develop sales strategies for their assigned territory
  • Research, analyze and capitalize on market opportunities.  Minimize effects of competitive activity
  • Be a role model for client relations – make that first impression of high-level, customer service to ensure each client will receive incredible customer service from everyone at SPEKS
  • Understand financial aspects of the accounts to make good business decisions for SPEKS; client reports, sales revenue, gross margins, sales reports, operating expenses, etc.
  • Ensure ease of process and high levels of professionalism when interacting with SPEKS employees as well as the client, while allowing for flexibility and change within the office and client’s needs.
  • Follow-up with clients to ensure SPEKS is producing high quality service and products for our new business
  • Monitor competitive products and marketing activities

Minimum Requirements:

  • Some college education required
  • Minimum 1-5 years of experience with business-to-business selling
  • Strong product creativity and passion to succeed
  • Powerful relationship-building skills

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • 2 – 5 years sales experience within the promotional product or print industry is highly preferred
  • Strong proficiency with Google Apps for Work product suite: Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, & Sheets
  • Excellent communication skills – written and oral
  • Strong ability to sell and consult with multiple departments within a customer organization and work independently and be productive in a virtual office environment
  • Sound account management acumen
  • Strong leadership skills (to coordinate with internal support teams)
  • Exceptional selling skills, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Excellent time management, prioritization; organizational skills as well as attention to detail, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong financial acumen
